When a chatbot welcomes the visitors of the mall and guides them through the mall directory, the mall developers surely know how to stay apposite in this era of e-commerce. One of South India’s largest malls, Express Avenue on Mount Road, calls itself the ‘destination mall’ of India. So what makes them so? “We have the right portfolio accumulation and we ensure that there’s something for everyone. Our patrons are assured they will never go empty-handed when they are here looking for something,” says Ganesh C V, President (Leasing and Marketing), Express Infrastructure (P) Ltd. It is a mall with 45% international, 35% national and 20% regional brands. To stay relevant the mall developers are revamping the mall, including changing the overall looks of the premise, while they plan to bring more new-age brands and expand their portfolio over time.
