Could you tell us about AND Studio and the journey so far?
TanveerChadha (TC): We started in 2013. Before that, I was working with a reputed Architecture firm in Delhi and have about 15 years of experience behind me. Design has always been my core strength and we started with a mission to offer a highly personalized service and space design solutions for all corporate, public specific and private spaces. Presently, we are a team of professionals consisting of an upcoming multidisciplinary firm. Our projects over the years include master planning, architecture, interiors, landscape and engineering. It has been a very encouraging journey and we have posted good growth on a year-on-year basis. When Darsheen joined us, we started looking at interiors in a very strong way.
What motivated you to start your own venture?
TC: The fact that I wanted to do something on my own inspired me to go ahead with the plan. So, we took a calculated risk, left our jobs and started this firm. It was a tough time for us initially but we carried on and also won Design competition projects in Delhi. One of them is like a feather in the cap – DPS, RK Puram, which is one of the known and successful school in India. The entire school building had to be demolished phase wise and a new one was to come up. This wining design paved us the way for more projects and that is how we started.
What kind of
solutions do you offer to your clients?
DarsheenChadha (DC): We do all aspects everything, including architecture, interiors and landscape, and we have sub-consultants for MEP services which is for plumbing, electrical fittings and air-conditioning. Our major clientele includes the Delhi Public School chain and the VikhePatil Foundation in Maharashtra that has its institutes in Ahmednagar, Loni and Nashik. We are also doing a transportation hub in Candy, Sri Lanka through the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS). Though are forte into Institutional and Healthcare Architecture, However we do Commercial as well as Residential Interiors
as well.
What are the ongoing trends in this sector?
DC: As far as architecture and interiors are concerned, we feel that just as everyone wants to look and feel good, they also want their house to look good. So, giving then solutions which are aesthetically sound and affordable is our forte. It’s all about simplicity of design and the trend that you want to set. I would say that there is no end to it and you can take it to any length. But for a figure, it costs around Rs. 2,500 per sq.feet.
What are your plans for expansion?
TC: We haven’t done much work in the hospitality sector and we are looking forward to do that. Also, We foresee AND Studio to expand overseas and we expect a great response from outside India as well.
