Amazon India will begin its Summer Sale for large appliances, consumer electronics, kitchen appliances, furniture and home products and more from March 23 to March 26, 2018.
Suchit Subhas, Category Leader-Appliances at Amazon India said, "During Amazon India's Summer Sale, customers will have offers from more than 150 brands. We have partnered with brands and sellers to offer no-cost EMI as these are high-value purchases and we want to make the purchase affordable for our customers.”
According to Subhas, Amazon India has seen 3X growth year-on-year in the large appliances & TV category since its launch two years back and believes it will continue to grow at this rapid pace making it one of the fastest growing categories for the company.
Subhas said, "We have also doubled our selection of products in this category this year with more than 5000 items to choose from.”
The sale will have features like no-cost credit card EMI with tenure up to 24 months and exchange offers with doorstep pick-up & delivery at no extra cost. Amazon will also enable customers to purchase refrigerators and washing machines by exchanging their old mobile phones, the executive said.
For Amazon India, around 40 percent of revenue for this category is generated through non-metro towns, said Subhas.
Amazon India had last week launched 6 new fulfillment centers located in Coimbatore, Lucknow, Mumbai, Gurugram, Pune, and Bhopal and 25 additional delivery stations exclusively for the fulfillment of large appliances and furniture category. With this, Amazon India now has a specialized network of 15 fulfillment centers spread over 1.3 million square feet with 5 million cubic feet of storage space and 60 delivery stations exclusively to cater to the customer of large appliances and furniture across 400 cities.
The etailer has also expanded its existing storage capacity in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ludhiana and Ahmedabad, the company has earlier said in a statement to cater to the increasing demands of customers for large appliances like refrigerators, air conditioners, air coolers, and washing machines.
