American company Polaroid, best known for its eyewear, instant film and cameras, is collaborating with Noida-based Powerful Technologies to launch a range of LED TVs and monitors for Indian market.
As per the licensee agreement with Polaroid in India, Powerful Technologies will assemble and manufacture the LED TVs and monitors in their Noida factory and retail the products through traditional shops and wholesale markets primarily. Also, Powerful Technologies has signed up an exclusive partnership with Amazon.in to sell the TVs and monitors in India.
Scott W. Hardy, President and CEO, Polaroid, said, "We are excited to offer new models in the LED TV and monitor product category in India. India is one of the fastest growing markets worldwide, and we are confident that local partnerships are the right way to tap into this growing market and further introduce the Polaroid brand to India."
The LED TVs are priced at Rs 7,999 for 19 inches, Rs 9,499 for 24 inches and Rs 13,999 for 32 inches.
Polaroid is a brand licensor and marketer of its portfolio of consumer electronics to companies that distribute consumer electronics and eyewear.
Aditya Gupta, Managing Director, Powerful Technologies said that his company which is into manufacturing and distribution of consumer electronics items in India clocked a turnover of Rs 150 crore in FY 16-17.
According to Gupta, the company aims to acquire licensee rights for Polaroid smartphones, laptops and tablets as well.
