As part of its Rs 1,800-crore ongoing expansion programme, Apollo Hospitals Group is planning to open 11 more hospitals in the next fiscal, which includes an additional 2,000 more beds to the existing 8,800 beds. Following the addition of more hospitals from the current 50 hospitals, the group would also be upgrading to newer technologies in all areas at its super-specialty hospitals.
According to Pratap C Reddy, chairman, there is a deficit of one lakh beds in the country. “We are looking to add about 900 beds in the next six weeks in Bhubaneswar, Lavasa, Kolkata and Secunderabad,’’he said.
