Arvind Brands likely to seal deal with an Italian fashion firm

Arvind Brands is close on the heels to bring Italian menswear label Energie to the country, which has been in talks for the last four months.

J Suresh, CEO of Arvind Brands & Retail, said that the company has been in negotiations with Italian fashion firm Sixty Group that owns Energie but no concrete agreement has been settled so far.

Arvind Brands is pursuing a licensing agreement for Energie that includes manufacturing the products in India. The agreement will allow more flexibility to price the garments for the Indian market.

Arvind has three own denim brands — Flying Machine, New Port and Ruf & Tuff. It also has a joint venture with US firm VF Corporation that retails Wrangler and Lee.
