Bharti Wal-Mart has announced that the company is ready to plunge into multi-brand retail in India within a year if the government eases the new norms on foreign direct investment.

Bharti Wal-Mart has announced that the company is ready to plunge into multi-brand retail in India within a year if the government eases the new norms on foreign direct investment.

 

Commenting on the FDI norms, CEO and Managing Director, Bharti Wal-Mart India, Raj Jain, said that the government should look at it holistically and the company has conveyed this to the concerned authorities, several times.

 

He added that they have plans to open 10-15 stores in the next two years. The company is also looking forward to focus on South India.
