Bharti Wal-Mart keen on South and West India expansion

After opening a store in the northern part of the country, Bharti Wal-Mart Pvt. Ltd is exploring the possibility of opening wholesale, B2B and cash and carry retail stores in southern and western region of the country by 2010. The 50:50 JV between Bharti Enterprises and Wal-Mart Stores Inc. currently has a store in Amritsar and another is also expected to come up in Punjab by December. The company is on the look out for locations in south and west. By 2015, Bharti Wal-Mart is expected to open 10 to 15 wholesale cash-and-carry outlets across India.
