Leading online supermarket player BigBasket has entered into a partnership agreement with employee meal card company Sodexo to simplify everyday grocery shopping for Sodexo consumers. As per the partnership, BigBasket users can now use Sodexo meal card to shop for packed foods, non-alcoholic beverages on bigbasket.com, the company said this today.

In their offline avatar, Sodexo coupons formed a substantial part of customer payments towards grocery purchases on BigBasket. With them going digital, it integrates even more seamlessly with the BigBasket online platform. This is a step forward in our endeavour to make shopping convenient for our customers.”

With a few hundred daily orders back in December 2011, BigBasket had a modest beginning. In six years, the company claimed, it has surpassed the 50,000 daily orders mark to become India’s largest online supermarket and 6th largest grocery retailer across online, offline channels.
It has also recently strengthened its B2B business by expanding to the Hotels, Restaurants, and Caterers (HoReCa) segment and partnered with a retail-technology firm SnapBizz to transform India’s kirana stores into technology-enabled modern retail stores.
