BigBasket's wholesale unit posts 35% revenue jump in FY18

BigBasket saw the revenue of its wholesale business Supermarket Grocery Supplies Private Limited grow by 35% to Rs 1,606 crore in the financial year ending on 31 March 2018. The company's revenue in the previous fiscal stood at Rs 1,176 crore. 

On the other hand, the losses of the company dropped by 53% to Rs 310 crore. Meanwhile, the operational losses remained almost consistent compared to Rs 312 crore in FY17.

BigBasket’s B2C arm, Innovative Retail, saw a 29% hike in revenue to Rs 1,410 crore. The retail arm also managed to control the losses by 6% to Rs 179 crore in FY18. 

Supermarket Grocery Supplies is a business-to-business entity. It sources products and sells it to Innovative Retail, which runs the online grocery portal.
