Cafe Coffee Day makes century in Delhi
Retail coffee chain Café Coffee Day (CCD) has inaugurated their 100th café in Chandni Chowk in Delhi and the auspicious moment was witnessed by Bidisha Nagaraj, President (Marketing) and Mandira Bedi, popular TV hostess. The 3,500 sq. ft. café has been constructed very near to the Red Fort to attract the attention of the tourists. While commenting on the launch, Bidisha said, "We are very proud to inaugurate our 100th café in Delhi which takes the national count to 172 in the northern region and 620 across the country". "All the 620 CCDs are company-owned", said Bidisha to our Reporter Subhro Prakash Ghosh. She also said that one of the formats named Xpress is being run through franchise route. The investment and area required for this format are 4-6 lakhs and 100-300 sq. ft. respectively. "We also have a set of formats named Book Café, Music Café, Highway Café (new format only present in B`lore-Mysore Highway), Lounge Café (Delhi, Kolkata & H`bad), Cyber Café and Garden Café (Delhi & B`lore). However, Fashion Café, Sports Café and Single Café will be coming soon." It is also reportedly said that CCD has commissioned Landor to strengthen its brand. The brand name and logo saying `Yes… a lot can happen over coffee` will remain the same. Everything else starting from infrastructure to the café ambience will be made different.
