Carlsberg India plans to share capacities with Anheuser

Carlsberg India has plans to build a brewery in Hyderabad. The talks are on with Anheuser Busch InBev India for a strategic relationship that would enable the two companies to use each other’s breweries for beer production.

If talks turn out to be positive, the deal would help the global rivals in saving costs and in ensuring higher utilisation of idle beer capacities.

Carlsberg India sold 5.6 million cases while AB InBev India sold 3 million cases in 2009, leaving a large portion of their respective capacities idle.
