Fisher & Paykel, the leading New Zealand-based appliances brand, has forayed into the Indian market with a range of products catering to household necessities such as cooking, washing, refrigerating and cooling. The brand has been in existence since 1934 and has broad network coverage to around 80 countries worldwide. The brand is primarily targeting the aspirational high income consumer base that prefers new generation appliances. Initially, they plan to make their products available across the northern region like Delhi, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Chandigarh. Andrew Paykel, COO, Fisher & Paykel International Business, says, “The market potential in this country has caught our attention and we believe that our product range is sure to catch the imagination of the consumers in the country.” Fisher & Paykel plans to focus on household, hospitality and the real estate sectors while also connecting with the architects and designers. It plans to rake in $ 5-10 million in the next couple of years in the Indian market.
