Franke Faber to step up India presence

Franke Faber, Swiss maker of domestic and industrial kitchen goods, is set to step up its India presence by investing Rs 50 crore in its greenfield site at Sanaswadi, near Pune, and expanding Aurangabad unit.  The move is expected to make India an export hub for the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, given that the cash-rich group is also eyeing buyouts in the water filtration and clean kitchen air businesses. “We are interested in clean water and air. So water filtration and kitchen applaince firms are our target,” said Michael Pieper, CEO and owner, Franke Artemis Group. It will also relocate the Faber design activity from Sweden to Pune.
