Gitanjali arm to foray into fine dining, spa and luxury stores

As a part of Gitanjali Group’s plan to add more than four million sq. ft by the year 2015, its retail Gitanjali Lifestyle, is drawing up mega plans to enter the spa business, speciality cosmetic and perfume stores, mini-theatres and a chain of fine dining restaurants. For starters, Gitanjali is already into JV talks with two European spa operators. It is also exploring acquisition opportunities in the fine dining space.  
Wanting to tap the growing demand for grooming, fine dining and entertainment, Gitanjali Group has plans to make it big in lifestyle retail targeting the youth.  
In the entertainment space, Gitanjali Lifestyle plans to roll out a chain of mini-theatres with the latest technology in satellite distribution. These theatres will have more than a hundred seats and only a few numbers of screens, even one screen in some cases, unlike a multiplex. The group is also planning to extend its frontline jewellery brands like Nakshatra and Gili into perfumes, bags and fashion accessories.
