HUL to start manufacturing and marketing Brylcreem in India from March

HUL has announced that it will soon start manufacturing, marketing and distributing the Brylcreem brand in India, effective March 31, 2012. According to the company, the plans are to integrate the brand into its personal care portfolio in order to grow the brand’s franchise. HUL is also likely to ramp up Brylcreem’s turnover (current sales estimated to be Rs 20- 25 crore) to make it a brand of consequence within its portfolio.
With this, the company plans to get a better hold of the Rs 300 crore hair care industry, which is growing at 30 per cent compounded annual growth rate.
