Havells foray into social media networking to expand its reach globally

Havells India Ltd, a US$ one billion plus company and one of the largest and fastest growing lighting solutions and electrical equipment companies in the world, has forayed into the growing space of Social Media. The number of people interacting with Social Media in one form or another has grown immensely. Whether it is Orkut, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Metacafe, Flickr, Scribd, Slideshare or blogs, the numbers are staggering.  

Announcing the social media initiative, Anil Gupta, JMD, Havells India Ltd., said, "We are already present on conventional media platforms, such as print, television and outdoor, and web and social media is yet another channel for our overall media presence. The dynamics of this new form of media are exciting, and encourage two way communications between brands and their customers. In fact, it offers an opportunity for a one on one interaction with various stakeholders and provides a platform for creating a personal relation with our esteemed customers." 

Havells will use the social media platform to share the views of the company among its various customers and will actively work on the feedback received from the customers through this platform.
