HyperCity plans expansion in South & West

HyperCity, the hypermarket chain of K Raheja Corp Group, is all set to open more stores by the end of this financial year (2010-11). Currently, HyperCity has presence in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Amritsar and Bhopal — through eight outlets.

Now the company is surging towards southern and western parts of the country. Six to eight stores will be launched every year, with the store-size varying from 75,000 to 1,00,000 square feet. The cities that are slated to witness a spurt in Hypercity stores by the end of FY11 are Pune, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana and Bangalore.

The company is also aiming to store in a cluster in order to bring down the operational costs. Approximately four stores are expected by the end of the year.
