Laundry Start-up UClean Aims 50 Outlets Across Country By 2020

Tech-enabled laundry start-up UClean has raised Rs 4 crore from angel investor Anubhav Chopra for expansion of its new business vertical 'UClean Select' in India.

The company has forayed into premium dry cleaning service with the launch of its first UClean Select store in Delhi.

UClean founder and CEO Arunabh Sinha, "After expanding aggressively our laundry business in the last 18 months, we are now getting into dry cleaning business. We plan to open 50 UClean Select outlets in tier I cities in India by the year 2020.”

Bollywood actors Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu are UClean's brand ambassadors and strategic partners.

When asked if the celebrity couple has also invested in the company, Khemu said, "No, we haven't. But, we have been associated with the brand since inception and we have seen it expand fast".

Earlier, UClean had secured seed funding from Franchise India and Mumbai-based angel investor Rajiv Jalan.

Anubhav Chopra has also invested in several fintech start-ups in the US and Europe.

The company plans to operate about 300 UClean stores by 2020 as a part of its aggressive strategy to grow its business of laundry services as well. It plans to operate about 300 UClean stores by 2020 in the country.

UClean was founded by IIT Bombay graduate Arunabh Sinha in October 2016. UClean has partnered US-based Alliance Laundry Systems for equipment, know-how, and training.
