Lladro, the Spanish luxury porcelain figurines and home décor giant, is expecting India to enter the league of its top three markets in the world in three years.
Lladro is also looking at unveiling a new retail format in India — high-end lounges with a museum look. Entry to these exclusive lounges will only be by prior appointment. Likely to come up in Delhi and Mumbai, these lounges will offer porcelain figurines priced from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
With products priced between Rs 6,000 and Rs 1 crore, India was the only market in the world that reported growth for the brand in 2009 despite the slowdown.
At present, the US, the UK, China and Canada are its top markets besides its home market of Spain. The brand is retailed through nine exclusive outlets in the four metros besides, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
