British fashion retailer Marks & Spencer has launched a new store in Bhubaneswar taking its store count to 67 in the country.
To tap the potential from emerging towns in India such as Bhubaneswar, M&S is focussed on continuing to expand its footprint and growth in India, informed James Munson, MD, Marks & Spencer India.
In an interaction with leading media agency Munson informed that M&S now eighteen years in India, continues to enjoy very good growth. Only UK has more stores than India. With Aurangabad, Bhopal, Guwahati and Pune, and a store in New Delhi’s Khan market opened this year, M&S will open another store in Hyderabad in a few days, and a few more ahead of peak festival season.
“We want to continue to ensure we are pressing ahead with that (growth) making sure we can identify good quality real estate -that remains an important factor in terms of delivering in our growth...The last two-three years we have opened 6-7 stores each year, and are looking to continue increase our presence and our rate of growth,” a press statement given to leading media agency.
The brand had invited young Bollywood actress Disha Patani to launch its 6700 square feet store in Bhubaneswar's newest mall, Esplanade.
