Marriott takes franchising-route to launch Fairfield Inn in India

Marriott International Inc is now evaluating the option of franchise-model to launch its Fairfield Inn & Suites brand in the country.

Till date, the company was operating its brands such as Courtyard, Renaissance, JW Marriott and others under management contract. Fairfield is a business hotel offering of Marriott International.

Mr Ed Fuller, President and Managing Director, Marriott Lodging International, Marriott International Inc., said, “Though we are positive on the management contracts, we think franchise-model will also work in India. We are looking to work with our US partners who are either already in India or are willing to come to India to develop Fairfield with us.”

Marriott already has 10 hotels under various brands in Mumbai, Goa, Hyderabad, Chennai, Gurgaon (National Capital Region), Ahmedabad and Pune. It plans to open 30 more properties in the next three years and reach the 100-mark by 2015.
