Metro Shoes posts Rs 13 crore online sales

Multi-brand  footwear retailer, Metro Shoes has reported Rs13 crore sales from its online channels including e-marketplaces and its own portal in the last fiscal.

As per the sources, the online marketplaces including Myntra, Flipkart and Amazon have collectively contributed 85% sales to the company, whereas its own portal has contributed remaining 15% sales.

Farah Malik, Director, Metro Shoes, said, “We have achieved 13 crore online sales in the last financial year. Our products are available in ecommerce sites including Flipkart, Myntra and Amazon. And we have our own portal. However, 85% sale has come from these marketplaces, whereas our own site has given us 15% sales in the last financial year."

Further, the company plans to launch 100 stores putting a range of investment between Rs 20 lakh and 60 lakh per store. In expanding its presence, Metro Shoes is upbeat in exploring tier II cities like Patna, Jabalpur and eastern part of the country.

The company also plans to expand product portfolio by introducing accessories as a category with products like belts and shoe-care items.

Malik added, “When your consumer trusts your brand, buying other products from the same brand becomes easier for them."  Seeing such consumer demand, the footwear company also plans to bring two international brands in next 6 month.
