Metro plans 40-50 outlets for future

Germany-based wholesale giant Metro Cash & Carry (MCC) is planning to open 40-50 outlets in India in the long run.

The company needs a minimum of 20 outlets to reach break-even. Currently, the company caters exclusively to business clients like hotels, restaurants, and small retailers. The centres are located in four states—Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal and Maharashtra. It is opening its sixth centre in Hyderabad next month, which will be its second outlet in the city.

The company is also foraying its presence in north espescially in Punjab. The company has already acquired land for six outlets in Punjab. It would be investing about ' 900 crore in Punjab in the coming times.

MCC also envisages to expand its presence even in Tamil Nadu in the near future.
