Mother Dairy on Wednesday issued a statement that its milk sales are set to cross the 3-million litre mark in the NCR region, adding that ‘competition sells about half of its sales volume in Delhi’.
“Mother Dairy’s current sale is approximately 28 lakh litre per day, which is about twice as much as that of the nearest competitor,” it said. Paul Thachil, CEO, Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable said in a statement: “We will enhance our milk sales volume to three million litre per day. This will strengthen our leadership in the branded milk segment in the region.”
BM Vyas, MD of GCMMF, countered that Amul’s 15-lakh litres a day figure had taken into account only branded, packaged milk and not loose milk in Delhi-NCR, unlike competition.
