Myntra, the Flipkart-owned online fashion retailer, is in advanced discussions to manage the offline stores of the US sportswear firm Under Armour in India.
If the deal finalises, Under Armour will become the first foreign brand to be on-boarded for offline store management under Myntra's new leadership team that came in place after the US retail giant Walmart acquired a 77% stake in Flipkart last year.
Myntra is focusing on managing its offline stores in high-footfall shopping malls targeting young shoppers, instead of high-street locations.
A person aware of the goings-on said, “The talks should fructify in a formal arrangement in a couple of months. There is aggressive focus on getting international brands to work with Myntra as exclusively as possible.”
