P&G to build largest plant

The largest manufacturing plant for Procter & Gamble is being set up in Hyderabad. The world'slargest consumer goods company is said to be investing close to Rs 345 crore on the facility spread across an area of 170 acres. The facility will produce goods across categories like laundry, personal care, and baby care. The plant will start commercial production in two years. Building the plant in Hyderabad will make it eligible for a 100 per cent stamp duty reimbursement and fixed power allocation as per Andhra Pradesh's newly-revised industrial policy. The company has also asked for a 75 per cent reimbursement on VAT for five years. P&G has awarded the construction contract to Larsen & Toubro.
