Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurved Ltd’s spent Rs 570 crore on advertising and promotions after generating a FY17 revenue of Rs 9,000 crore and, according to a court ruling.

Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala said, “We are keeping the same pace on advertising.”

“The annual revenue generated by the plaintiff from the sale of its products under the mark Patanjali in the financial year 2016-17 was Rs 9,000 crore approximately and the expenditure on advertising and promotion incurred by the plaintiff was Rs 570 crore approximately,” according to the January 23 interim ruling in a case between Patanjali and Baba Ramdev’s former partner Swami Karamveer over trademark and copyright.”
