Since the news dropped of high currency notes getting illegalised in India by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and new notes are being localised slowly and steadily, it is a hell of opportunities raining from sky for the e-commerce websites and e-cash wallet companies.

It si heard that Paytm, a mobile payment company and e-commerce platform is going to hire 10,000 agents to expand its offline merchant network to 20 lakh touch-points by the end of the current fiscal.

According to PTI, Amit Sinha, Senior Vice President, paytm said, "As millions of consumers across India have taken to using their Paytm Wallets to transact offline, our biggest opportunity is to be available in every town and city in the country. We want to reach there, faster, looking to further strengthen our on boarding teams as we continue to build India's biggest payments network."

Various reports and industry experts believe a payment volume and transaction size via digital platform is expected to grow manifold in the coming months.

Right now, Paytm has around 4000 such agents and over one lakh offline merchants on its platform.
