Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd, has said that the group companies, Reliance Retail and Reliance Jio Infocomm, will be launching a new e-commerce platform in India.
He said that this new e-commerce platform will be first rolled out in Gujarat, empowering 12 lakh shopkeepers in Gujarat.
By launching this platform, Mukesh Ambani intends to take on the world’s largest retailers such as Amazon and Flipkart. Earlier, he said that e-commerce platform would use augmented reality, holographs and virtual reality for creating an immersive shopping experience.
The oil-to-telecom conglomerate reported consolidated revenues of Rs 430,731 crore in 2017-18 and a profit after tax of Rs 36,075 crore.
