Reliance Retail to invest Rs 2k cr

Reliance Retail, a subsidiary arm of Reliance Industries is looking at investing Rs 2,000 crore for adding the retail space of 3 million sq ft by the end of 2010-11. The company was able to add only 1 million sq ft retail space. It is currently operating over 4.5 million sq ft space pan-India. The focus is mainly on expanding Reliance Mart hypermarkets and its speciality retail formats—namely Reliance Trend, Reliance Digital, Reliance Jewels, Reliance Footprint, Reliance Time-Out and Reliance Wellness. The firm is lined up to add around 30 hypermarkets and 250 speciality stores in the fiscal 2010.
