Retail course among 3 new courses at St Xavier's

St Xavier`s College is going to start three new vocational courses in animation, retail and financial management from the first week of next month. These courses have been introduced because of popular demand. The three-year degree programmes will be taught under the self-financing scheme. The admission process has already commenced. While there are 30 seats in the animation course, the retail and financial management programmes have the intake capacity of 50 each. The fee for the animation course is Rs 45,000 per semester while the retail and financial management programmes will cost the students around Rs 18,000 a year. St Xavier`s has sought the help of a Bangalore-based software institute, Animaster, for the animation course. Besides providing faculty members, Animaster also take care of placement. As for retail and financial management, the autonomous college has roped in local faculty members who have a degree in the subjects. He added that no entrance test would be conducted for the animation course. However, the aptitude of applicants will be tested for admission into retail and finance management courses.
