Ananya Tripathi, head of strategy at Myntra, has been given the additional responsibility of two new businesses. She will head the international brands' business and the new businesses of Myntra, including sports and accessories. These two departments contribute about 25% of overall sales of the company. Tripathi, a former McKinsey executive who joined the Bengaluru based e-tailer in late 2015, has till now been looking at the company's business approach, planning and investments (organic and inorganic).
Ananya Tripathi said “the company is looking to be the first choice for any international brand seeking to enter India. "We are in discussions with brands to be their master franchise for both online and offline. Omni-channel is going to be a focus area for Myntra now.”
Tripathi said the company is also laying additional focus on sports and accessories with the idea of expanding the bouquet of products across categories. "Myntra's journey started with being the leading platform for sports merchandise in India. I am looking to build on this legacy and make it the health and fitness destination for Indians. We will be looking at areas like wearable’s and sports equipment”.
