Lately, Indian market is witnessing influx of foreign designer brand including the names like Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, Moschino and Jean Paul Gautier. Now it`s time for celebrity designer brand Stella McCartney to take the plunge in the Indian retail market. The company, owned by the daughter of the legendary singer Paul McCartney of Beatles fame, has given the distribution rights to Delhi-based TSG International Marketing for India. The company plans to open two free standing Stella McCartney retail stores will in Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore by the year end. An additional four stores will follow over the next five years. With the Indian luxury market touching $ 10 billion by 2010 and registering a growth of 20 per cent per annum, this is probably the best time for international luxury brands to set shop in India. Charu Sachdev, Chief Executive Officer, TSG International Marketing Pvt. Ltd. informs, "We plan to spend Rs.15,000-20,000 per sq. ft. on the Stella McCartney flagship store. The brand fits in perfectly with the portfolio of luxury fashion brands that we already have in India. Credited with bringing Tommy Hilfiger into India, TSG International has also recently tied up with Italy`s AEFFE Fashion Group, which owns several renowned fashion brands like Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alberta Ferretti, Pollini.
