TBS to add 26 stores

The Bombay Store today has a presence across 14 locations in the country. With focus on mid-sized stores (about 3,000-4,000 sq ft) to grow the brand in the country, they will take the number up to 40 stores in the next three years.  Asim  Dalal, MD, The Bombay Store says, “This size has worked well for us as we can be more focused and become destination stores.” He further adds, “These stores would come up in metros and Tier I cities.”

They are also carrying out profitable business through e-commerce.  Revenue generated through e-commerce contributes to about 2.5 per cent of the top line. Commenting on further growth, Dalal says, “We recently added our second store in Bangalore at one MG Road. Increase in malls and retail space, higher consumption and purchase power will fuel the growth, at the same time increasing competition, even in specialty retail will have to be dealt with. We will be exploring overseas expansion as well - Singapore, Dubai and London over the next three years. The investment figures stand at Rs 15-20 crore through investors and debt.
