Titan to tap more Asian markets

Despite being unsuccessful in the European market some years ago, Titan Industries, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, plans to take the Titan brand to more countries in Asia, in the coming years. The company, which has set itself a turnover target of $1 billion this year, has aggressive plans for the Asian market with respect to its watch business in the next few years.

Currently, Titan watches are sold in 26 countries across Asia through departmental stores and multi-brand outlets. “And we sell not just to the Indian Diaspora. We do sell to the locals. For example, in Vietnam and Malaysia, it's largely the locals who buy our watches. We are looking to take the Titan brand to more countries in Asia in the next few years,” said Mr Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director, Titan Industries.

International sales account for about 10 per cent of Titan's watch business at Rs 100 crore.
