Flipkart has onboarded more than 13,000 kiranas in the Eastern Region in order to make faster deliveries to customers ahead of the festive season.
The company has expanded its kirana programme across cities like Kolkata, Guwahati, Silchar and Shillong in the eastern states. With this, Flipkart has made e-commerce more inclusive by connecting small retailers and consumers to digital commerce.
This expansion is part of the e-commerce giant’s programme to onboard 50,000 kiranas across India to offer a faster and personalised e-commerce experience to its consumers.
A company statement said, “Flipkart’s team initiated contactless onboarding of kiranas through an online application. This enabled seamless onboarding without them having to step out during COVID-19 times.”
The kirana programme is part of Flipkart’s efforts to drive growth for millions of small retailers across the country.
