Grofers has entered into instant deliveries and delivered to over 7,000 households within 15 minutes via 900 of its delivery partners in Gurugram.
The company is now looking to replicate faster delivery in other locations as well, Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Grofers, said in a blog post.
Announcing the foray, Dhindsa said in a Tweet, “When the first wave of the current pandemic hit, we realized two things - first, we needed to do more to support the ecosystem of local partners and delivery agents who made sure essential commodities reached our users, and second, we recognized that our users' needs were distributed throughout the month when they needed to access grocery services for many use cases.”
“Our work over the last five years allowed us the tools and the privilege of enabling an ecosystem that could promise to deliver groceries to every household in Gurugram within 15 minutes. Yesterday, over 7,000 households experienced delivery within 15 minutes,” he tweeted.
Recently, the online grocery delivery firm turned unicorn after it received $120 million funding from Zomato and others.
