To bring momos into Indian kitchens and homes, Nandu’s, India’s hyper-local and omnichannel meat brand, has introduced four ‘heat & eat’ dishes, including Nandu’s Classic Chicken Momos, Nandu’s Schezwan Chicken Momos, Nandu’s Classic Prawn Momos, and Nandu’s Classic Fish Momos.
As urban India continues to cook and eat more at home amidst lockdowns, and with an increased focus on healthy eating during the pandemic, Nandu’s momos offer an exciting variety for consumers to choose from. Nandu’s momos come in all-inclusive packs.
Commenting on the latest launch, Narendra Pasuparthy, Chief Farmer, Founder & CEO, Nandu’s, said, “At Nandu’s, it has always been our endeavor to innovate at category and product levels to deliver three benefits to our customers, food that is authentic and free of any form of harmful additives; home-cooked food that appeals to our customers’ taste buds, and food that is convenient to cook and consume at home, without compromising on health or taste. The latest addition to Nandu’s ‘heat & eat’ category, momos, naturally lends itself to all these three qualities. Besides, momos have been a favorite outdoor snack for a while now. So, we decided it was just the dish that deserved a Nandu’s spin.”
Nandu’s ‘heat & eat’ products, namely Chicken 65, Schezwan Chilli Chicken, Butter Chicken, Curry Leaf Pepper Chicken and Rayalaseema Chicken, registered an impressive 2X growth in FY 2020-21. With the new launch, the company is looking at an organic growth trajectory, wherein the ‘heat & eat’ vertical will be further bolstered.
Vinay Gopinath, Chief Operating Officer, Nandu’s, noted, “Our product development team has been working hard for months to understand what customers love about the different versions of momos. We found that while every recipe can be unique, what customers find truly irresistible is fresh off the pan momos stuffed with tender and juicy filling, be it chicken, fish, or prawns. Customers will find all this and more in our momos. Also, we use no MSG or artificial food colors. Nandu’s promise is ‘Immense flavor per bite’.”
Pavan Gopal A, Chief Marketing Officer, Nandu’s, further stated, “We see a massive opportunity for market disruption, not just at a product level, but also at an experience level with Nandu’s ‘heat & eat’ momos. Traditionally momos, though much sought after are seldom prepared in Indian homes because it is a cumbersome process. With our 'heat & eat' momos, we are helping our customers to enjoy their favorite momos at home within minutes, any time of the day.”
Operating on a hyper-local, omnichannel model, Nandu’s has retail stores and offers home delivery services via the company’s e-commerce website, app, call centre, and also via popular e-commerce marketplaces. The Bengaluru-based meat brand has fully integrated farm-to-fork operations.
