THE NEW SHOP Expands Offline Presence, Opens Store in Meerut

The NEW Shop, the omnichannel convenience commerce company operating 24 hours open brick and mortar stores and providing instant hyperlocal deliveries within 30 minutes expanded to another Tier ll city, and launched its operations with multiple franchise partners in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

The first store has already been launched at Pinnacle Tower on Garh Road, which was inaugurated by R.A. Tiwari, a well-known businessman from Haryana along with Akshat Tripathi, the franchise partner of The NEW Shop. This will be the first of its kind 24 hours open store in Meerut, providing home deliveries 24/7 within 15-30 minutes. This is also one of the many stores of The NEW Shop to be opened in Meerut this year.

The NEW Shop is creating a new 24/7 omnichannel convenience retail format in India, in a tech-enabled adaptation of the popular global convenience retail formats. Customers may order anything using The NEW Shop app for home deliveries or in-store pick-ups or just walk to their neighboring The NEW Shop store for a great shopping experience.

Akshat Tripathi, a young 24-year-old entrepreneur, lawyer, and The NEW Shop’s franchise partner said, "I was quite impressed by the concept of The NEW Shop, its vast variety of product and service categories, and its 24X7 availability and deliveries. I always wanted to do something for the development of my society, especially in my birthplace. This new concept shall be quite a game changer in modernizing the shopping experience as it is the first of its kind in Meerut. The NEW Shop has more than 60  operating outlets in India, spread across Delhi and NCR, Mumbai, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Agra and plans to expand to more non-urban areas and cities of UP, MP, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. TNS has outlets in locations such as dense residential neighborhoods and mass transportation hubs (such as railway stations, airports, tourist destinations, and gas stations), all of which also serve as dark stores for offering quick, hyperlocal deliveries.

An additional layer of character is brought about by earthy tones of oakwood and marble finish tables, further tying in the white and gold scheme. The store celebrates form and functionality, where every product is meticulously designed to balance Quality, Utility, and Beauty - the three integral pillars of Nestasia’s QUB (Quality, Utility, and Beauty) model.

The Delhi store displays about 1100 products spread across 7 categories that include Dining, Kitchen, Decor, Soft Furnishings, Bath, Bags, and Stationery which further include top-performing sub-categories like drinkware, glassware, bakeware, office essentials, decor accents, vases, frames, and more. The decor collection has themed collections like Nest Modern, Nest Jungle, and the signature premium decor and gifting collection Nest Luxe which includes candle stands and display pieces. The brand currently prefers smaller stores, especially for mall locations, to ensure a robust rent-to-revenue ratio. The brand aims to achieve a 2000+ SPSF (sales per square feet) across stores. Despite the current stores occupying an area between 500 and 1000 square feet, the brand is actively exploring the potential of larger-format stores in the future. By the close of 2024, Nestasia aims to derive 20 percent of its revenue from offline stores.
