Canon India Pvt. Limited, India’s No 1. Complete Digital Imaging Company has opened its 4th “Canon Image Square” near Barakhamba Road, Connaught Place, today. This retail venture provides hands-on experience of the products to the customers, also enabling them to understand the technicalities and basics of photography. Spread over 800Sq.ft. of space, the store provides the possibility of increasing their stock sales, as well as providing customer satisfactory services. Present on the occasion were Mr. Kensaku Konishi, President & CEO, Canon India and Mr. Alok Bharadwaj, who envisaged the need to broaden the exposure level of photography in the country. “We plan to have around 100 stores within this year all over the country and expect the figure to reach 300 stores within next 3 years”, said Mr. Konishi. “The purpose of setting up these stores seems feasible, as still much of the consumer base in the country do not feel the need to have printers in their home itself” was Mr. Bharadwaj’s opinion. All in all, the idea behind these stores need to be accepted by the consumers, which is to be seen with the kind of response and returns the stores attain within next year as Canon look to invest heavily in the retail segment for the benefit of the consumers.
