Daryaganj Expands Globally with First International Outlet in Bangkok

Daryaganj, the North Indian restaurant brand known for its authentic flavors and rich culinary history, is set to make its international debut with the opening of its first outlet in Bangkok, Thailand, in January 2025. This new location, at Sukhumvit Soi 18 within a five-star hotel, marks the brand’s entry into the global market following the success of 12 outlets across India.

Founded by Raghav Jaggi and Amit Bagga, Daryaganj pays tribute to the culinary legacy of Raghav’s grandfather, Kundan Lal Jaggi, the inventor of Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani. Speaking about the expansion, Raghav Jaggi said, "My grandfather’s journey from the kitchens of Peshawar to establishing a restaurant in Daryaganj post-partition was driven by his passion for flavors. Today, as we take this legacy forward globally, it reflects the culinary heritage of India and the resilience of the people who built it."

Bangkok, one of the world's top tourist destinations with a significant Indian population, offers an ideal market for Daryaganj’s North Indian cuisine. With approximately 22 million tourists visiting Thailand annually, many of whom are Indian, Daryaganj is well-positioned to serve both local and international customers. Amit Bagga, Co-Founder and CEO of Daryaganj, expressed his confidence in the brand’s appeal, said, "Our food, crafted with the finest ingredients, is not overly spicy or heavy, making it accessible to a wide audience. We believe the Thai market, with its diverse palates, will warmly embrace Daryaganj."

Partnering with Chaiyud Sakchiraphong, owner of Park Royal Co. Ltd., Daryaganj aims to introduce its award-winning Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani to Bangkok’s bustling culinary scene. "We are excited to bring this legendary brand to Thailand. Daryaganj’s reputation for excellence precedes it, and we look forward to its success in Bangkok," said Sakchiraphong.

Daryaganj's menu in Bangkok will remain true to its Indian roots, while incorporating locally sourced seafood to cater to the local market. The restaurant will also offer a specially curated Indian cocktail menu as part of its expansion into Thailand.

Looking ahead, Daryaganj plans to further its international presence with outlets in Singapore, the UAE, UK, and Australia by 2025, aiming to reach a total of 20 outlets by the end of this financial year. This expansion highlights Daryaganj's dedication to sharing its authentic North Indian cuisine with a global audience.
