Magnolia Bakery Expands Presence in India with Second Mumbai Store

Magnolia Bakery, known for its freshly baked desserts, including cupcakes, cakes, pies, cheesecakes, and signature banana pudding, has opened its second store in Mumbai as part of its ongoing retail expansion in India. The new outlet, located in the Worli neighborhood, began operations on August 28, 2024, marking Magnolia Bakery’s eighth location in the country.

Originally established on Bleecker Street in New York City's West Village in 1996, Magnolia Bakery has grown to become a globally recognized brand with corporately owned stores in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, as well as franchise locations in cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Istanbul.

The brand was introduced to India by Spago Foods in 2019, and this new store in Mumbai’s Worli area continues its strategy to strengthen its retail presence across the country. "We are thrilled to be opening our second Magnolia Bakery store in Mumbai. Since we first opened in Bangalore five years ago, the response from customers has been gratifying, giving us the confidence to actively and aggressively plan pan-India growth. The new 1,000 sq. ft space in the Raheja Altimus building provides guests with the opportunity to enjoy a variety of freshly baked desserts, either indoors or in al fresco seating. Customers can also watch as cakes and cupcakes are meticulously decorated or simply relax with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. 

This expansion in Mumbai aligns with Magnolia Bakery’s broader goal of growing its footprint in India's retail market, targeting key locations and catering to diverse customer bases across the country.
