Mumbai and Pune's renowned beer craftsmen come together to celebrate Mumbai’s first ever ‘Craft Beer Weekender’ in honor of International Beer Day 2016. A yearly festival making its debut on August 6th-7th, this celebratory weekend (Saturday and Sunday) will raise a toast to the Mumbai's changing beer culture, economy and communities - one mug at a time.
A brainchild of Brewbot Eatery and Pub Brewery in India, this noteworthy collaboration might very well be a first in Mumbai, serving as the perfect platform for craft brewers to showcase not only beer prowess but also their distinctive offerings under a unique beer carnival setup. This initiative wishes to attain a common goal for each microbrewery in Mumbai and Pune whilst educating patrons to choose fresh crafted Beer over pre-packaged ones (that are usually packed with artificial flavours, synthetic colours & preservatives) due to its core promise of better quality, flavor and novelty.
Each microbrewery has faced a host of licensing issues to sell craft beer – the goal of this festival is to build a common platform for addressing and resolving issues in the similar domain. The event will witness the participation from Gateway Brewing Co, Doolally Taproom, White Owl Brewery, Independence Brewing Company, Effingut Brewerkz and Brewbot Eatery and Pub Brewery (host of the event).
Informing further about the event, Anand Morwani, Curator of the Craft Beer Weekender and Partner, Brewbot Eatery and Pub Brewery said, “Craft beers have faced many issues in Mumbai – from license legislation to distribution. This festival is our stand to showcase the love for craft beer in the city. We want to form a unique community where competitors can work together to provide beers that represent authenticity, quality and innovation, besides offering us a unique opportunity to generate greater preference for beer that is full of flavour and truly handmade.”
