South- African chain Barcelos to make India debut in February

Barcelos, the South African peri-peri restaurant is ready to taste the Indian market by opening its first outlet in the country.
Known for its world-class peri-peri flavored, flame grilled menu, Barcelos will open its first restaurant in February at Khan Market, New Delhi.

With this opening, the restaurant chain will have over 150 outlets worldwide, entering into the 18th country.

“We are very confident that with a combination of superior service from South Africa with the blend of peri-peri flavours, we will bring to the Indian customer, a world-class casual dining experience. With a growing awareness towards tasteful yet healthy dining, we at Barcelos, aim to focus on the health and nutritional aspects of food, apart from the tastes and flavours,” said Rohit Malhotra, GM Operations, Barcelos.

Barcelos has also opened its restaurant in Oman recently. The peri-peri chain started its operation in 1993, with just a single outlet in Pretoria (South Africa).

Today, the restaurant is present across African continent, Canada, UK, Singapore, (Middle East and Asia).

The casual dining chain is planning to introduce authentic Portuguese flavors catering to a predominantly vegetarian segment which would cover about 40 per cent of  the footfall.

Barcelos is planning to enter all the metro cities of the country by opening more than 20 outlets by 2020.
