Starbucks Announces Closure of Its In-Store Cafes

In order to mitigate the spread of the outbreak, Starbucks on Saturday announced its temporary closure of in-store cafes. Beginning from March 20th, the closure will be for at least two weeks.

Starbucks said in a statement that their US and Canada in-store cafes are temporarily closing and people can order from the drive-thru or from their app. However, the Starbucks delivery service is still open to the public. This decision was taken to help slow the spread of the virus.

The company also said that their cafes which are around hospitals might not get closed in order to serve people at the healthcare workers at the healthcare centers.

This decision came after incorporating all possible precautions and protocols to ensure the customers’ safety and prevent the spread of germs in their stores.

Recently, other food retail chains like McDonald's and Nandos also announced their decisions to close their outlets in the UK.
