Turakhia Natural Veneers Plans Franchise Expansion Across India
Turakhia Natural Veneers Plans Franchise Expansion Across India
Turakhia Natural Veneers, established in 1992, is expanding its presence in India through a franchise-owned, franchise-operated (FOFO) experience centre model. The brand proposes an initial investment of approximately ₹42.30 lakh, a showroom area of 1,000–2,000 sq. ft. and a five-year agreement. The opportunity targets entrepreneurs interested in decorative wood veneers, premium interiors and building materials, with projected returns and payback estimates outlined by the company.

Turakhia Natural Veneers, a brand with more than three decades of experience in the decorative wood veneer industry, is expanding its presence across India through a franchise-led experience centre model. With an initial investment of approximately ₹42 lakh, the opportunity targets entrepreneurs looking to enter the premium home improvement, interior design and building materials market.

As demand for personalised interiors and premium decorative surfaces grows, Turakhia Natural Veneers is looking to make its products more accessible through dedicated experience centres. During a webinar, Vishal Shah, Business Head of the company, discussed the brand’s manufacturing capabilities, product portfolio, franchise investment and expansion strategy.

Turakhia Natural Veneers: A Legacy Since 1992

Operating under Turaka Overseas Private Limited, Turakhia Natural Veneers traces its origins to 1992. The family-run business initially imported wood veneers before establishing its own manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Its corporate and sales operations are based in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

The company processes imported wood logs and veneers through an in-house manufacturing setup equipped with specialised machinery for slicing, pressing and other production processes. Its products serve dealers, builders, original equipment manufacturers and customers involved in residential and commercial interior projects.

According to the company’s presentation, Turakhia Natural Veneers has a network of more than 150 dealers across India. The brand combines its manufacturing capabilities with product innovation to cater to changing interior design preferences.

Product Innovation and the Experience Centre Concept

Natural wood veneers have traditionally been valued for their distinctive grains, textures and finishes. However, managing extensive product inventories can be challenging for manufacturers and channel partners because natural materials vary in appearance and availability.

To address these challenges, Turakhia Natural Veneers has expanded its portfolio beyond conventional veneers to include fluted surfaces, textured products, coloured veneers, hybrid designs and other value-added decorative panels.

During the webinar, Shah explained that the company offers approximately 30–35 product ranges and can present more than 70,000 combinations through its experience centre concept. The aim is to help customers explore different materials, finishes and design possibilities in one location.

The experience centres are intended to serve architects, interior designers, builders, contractors and end consumers planning new construction or renovation projects.

The company has also opened an experience centre in Rohini, Delhi, in collaboration with an existing channel partner who has been associated with the business for several years. This operating example is helping the brand understand the showroom format and the support required for future franchise partners.

The franchise proposal presented during the webinar outlines the following commercial terms:

The presentation identifies approximately ₹42.30 lakh as the initial investment, while the discussion described a broader estimated investment range of ₹35–45 lakh, depending on the showroom and its requirements.

According to Shah, showroom fit-outs, decorative panels, fixtures and display samples form major components of the initial investment. He also explained that the factory intends to share the cost of certain display and showroom requirements, with the final arrangements depending on the agreed setup.

Prospective franchisees should obtain a detailed written quotation confirming the complete investment breakdown, applicable taxes, working capital requirements and the precise scope of the brand’s contribution before making a financial commitment.

Monthly Business Requirements and Revenue Potential

The brand estimates monthly operating expenses of approximately ₹3.5–4 lakh, including rent, staff salaries and other store-related costs.

During the webinar, Shah indicated that monthly business of approximately ₹15–17 lakh could help cover recurring expenses under the assumptions discussed. He also explained that product prices vary considerably, with individual sheets or panels ranging from approximately ₹7,000–8,000 to ₹1 lakh or more, depending on the product.

Actual sales and profitability will depend on the showroom location, customer network, product mix, order frequency, operating costs and the franchisee’s ability to build relationships with architects, interior designers and builders.

The brand’s stated payback and return projections should therefore be treated as estimates rather than assured results.

Location Requirements and Target Markets

Turakhia Natural Veneers recommends an experience centre of approximately 1,000–2,000 sq. ft. The brand indicated that a showroom of around 1,500–2,000 sq. ft. can provide sufficient space to display its product range, although smaller formats may also be considered depending on the layout.

The company prioritises accessible locations with good visibility, convenient parking and suitable showroom aesthetics. While locations in established timber and building-material markets may be considered, the brand does not require every experience centre to operate within a traditional timber market.

Its presentation identifies potential markets across Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jaipur and other cities. These locations reflect the company’s expansion considerations rather than confirmed franchise openings.

Who Can Become a Franchise Partner?

The opportunity may suit entrepreneurs and investors with an interest in premium building materials, interior products and home improvement.

The company particularly welcomes prospects with experience in plywood, laminates, tiles, marble, granite, sanitary fittings, furniture or related categories. Existing relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors, builders and property developers can help franchisees develop a customer base.

However, previous experience in the wood veneer industry is not presented as a mandatory requirement. Shah emphasised the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset, an ability to sell premium products, strong communication skills and a willingness to build long-term customer relationships.

Under the FOFO model, the franchisee is responsible for the outlet’s capital investment, location, setup and day-to-day operations. The brand contributes product expertise, manufacturing capabilities, display and catalogue support, and guidance on presenting its portfolio.

Growth Strategy and Market Outlook

India’s expanding real estate sector, urbanisation, changing lifestyles and growing interest in customised interiors are creating opportunities for premium decorative surface products.

Turakhia Natural Veneers aims to capitalise on these trends by building a more structured retail presence. Its experience centres are designed to bridge the gap between manufacturing capabilities and the customer’s ability to explore and understand the available products.

The company’s approach prioritises suitable partners and sustainable relationships over expansion numbers alone. Shah highlighted the importance of working with partners who share the brand’s long-term outlook and ambitions for growth.

For entrepreneurs evaluating the opportunity, the business offers a route into the premium interiors and decorative surfaces segment. However, the final investment decision should follow a detailed assessment of the local market, property costs, customer demand, expected margins and the franchise agreement.

For franchise enquiries, prospective partners can connect with the Turakhia Natural Veneers and Franchise India teams to discuss location suitability, investment requirements and the next steps in the application process.
