The launch comes at a time when India’s hospitality sector is witnessing growing demand for boutique and experiential stays, particularly in heritage-rich destinations such as Udaipur. Often referred to as the “City of Lakes,” Udaipur attracts millions of domestic and international visitors each year for leisure travel, destination weddings, celebrations, and cultural tourism. Recognizing the city’s long-term tourism potential, Eco Hotels has chosen the destination as the location for its first boutique property, aiming to cater to travelers seeking a blend of comfort, personalized service, and unique local experiences.

The newly launched property features thoughtfully designed rooms that combine comfort with modern hospitality standards. The introduction of Kick In The Brick and EcoSip Café further strengthens our hospitality ecosystem and enhances guest engagement beyond traditional accommodation. We believe this integrated offering will help establish a strong brand presence in the region while supporting our broader expansion strategy across key tourism markets in India.”

As part of its broader hospitality ecosystem, the property introduces two new food and beverage concepts aimed at enhancing guest engagement and creating additional experiences beyond accommodation. The property also features “Kick In The Brick,” a double-deck rooftop restaurant and bar that offers views of the Aravalli Hills, providing guests with a distinctive dining and social experience.

In addition to accommodation and dining, the property incorporates unique experiential elements designed to reflect local culture and traditions. Among these is the introduction of morning “Bhajan Clubbing” sessions, an initiative that blends devotional music with wellness and community-focused activities. Inspired by Rajasthan’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, the concept seeks to offer guests a memorable and immersive experience that connects them with the local environment while promoting relaxation and well-being.

From a business perspective, the company expects the new property to contribute meaningfully to its financial performance through diversified revenue streams. Revenue generation is expected to come from accommodation, food and beverage services, events, and experiential offerings, creating a well-rounded hospitality model capable of serving different customer segments.

Franchise News: Aspect Hospitality Launches House of Akina in Mumbai
Franchise News: Aspect Hospitality Launches House of Akina in Mumbai

Aspect Hospitality India Pvt Ltd has expanded its hospitality portfolio with the launch of House of Akina, a contemporary Asian restaurant in Mumbai focused on dining, design and guest-led experiences. The new restaurant has been built around the fictional character Akina, whose travels across Asia shape the concept’s food, beverage and interior approach.

Rather than centring on a single cuisine, House of Akina combines Asian culinary influences with a hospitality-led format. The restaurant’s interiors have been designed to resemble a residential setting, featuring spaces inspired by living and dining rooms. Neutral tones, curated artwork, layered textures, and residential-style furnishings form part of the overall design approach.

Aksha Kamboj, Executive Chairperson, Aspect Global Ventures said, “House of Akina represents the kind of hospitality we deeply believe in, one that is immersive without being performative and luxurious without losing warmth. Every detail within the space has been approached with intent, from the design language to the culinary storytelling. Akina is imagined as someone who has travelled the world collecting stories, flavours, and emotions, and now opens her home to Mumbai. We wanted guests to feel that intimacy the moment they walk in.

Hitesh Keswani, Managing Director and CEO, Aspect Hospitality India Pvt Ltd said, “Today’s diner seeks more than novelty. They seek meaning, memory and spaces they want to return to. With House of Akina, we wanted to create a restaurant that feels layered and personal, where hospitality is intuitive, conversations flow naturally, and every experience reveals itself slowly over time. It is a concept built on emotional connection as much as culinary excellence.

House of Akina follows a contemporary Asian menu format featuring cold plates, sushi, robata grills, dim sums, and large-format dishes. The menu also includes a dedicated section called The Akina Edit, which combines Asian techniques with Indian regional flavours. Signature dishes include Gondhoraj Salmon Ceviche, Wonton Lamb Birria Taco, Goi Buoi Bhel, Konkan Mushroom Teriyaki, Wok Tossed Chettinad Chicken, Black Pepper Prawn Kayalpattinam, and Thecha Hakka Noodles.

Chef Ashwin Singh, Creative Culinary Chef at Aspect Hospitality said, “At Akina, the intention was never to create food that simply looks contemporary. We wanted every dish to feel rooted in memory and emotion while still evolving through technique and perspective. Many dishes draw from Indian flavours and regional ingredients I grew up with, interpreted through experiences gathered across different kitchens and cultures. The Akina Edit especially reflects that balance between familiarity and discovery.

The beverage programme has been developed around Asian-inspired themes and includes cocktails such as Green Hour, Sticky Gold, Nights in May, The Silk Route, Windflower Waltz and Salty Verandah.

Bensan Geevarghese, Corporate Beverage Manager at Aspect Hospitality Group said, “We wanted the cocktails at House of Akina to feel emotional and transportive rather than overly technical. Every drink is tied to a place, a memory or a feeling Akina might have experienced during her travels. The idea was to create cocktails that are layered and expressive while remaining approachable and easy to return to.

The launch of House of Akina comes at a time when restaurants are increasingly focusing on integrated dining formats that combine food, design, and hospitality experiences.

Minimalist Hotels Enters Udaipur with Restored Heritage Haveli Overlooking Lake Pichola

Boutique hospitality brand Minimalist Hotels is expanding its presence in Rajasthan with the launch of a heritage-inspired property in Udaipur. The upcoming hotel, Minimalist Lake Pichola Edit, marks the company’s debut in the city and reflects the growing demand for experience-driven hospitality that blends culture, design, and modern comfort.

Situated near the iconic Lake Pichola on Bhimparmeshwar Marg, the property is housed within the historic Bawlas ki Haveli, a structure dating back to the early 19th century. Deeply rooted in Udaipur’s royal legacy, the haveli was once associated with the princely state of Mewar and served as a residence for distinguished guests connected to the royal court. Through a careful restoration process, the property has retained several traditional architectural elements, including intricate jharokhas, textured terracotta walls, and heritage-inspired detailing, while introducing contemporary hospitality features suited to modern travellers.

The section being transformed into the hotel was historically known as the Mardana Haveli, an area traditionally designated for male guests during the era when the purdah system was widely followed. Minimalist Hotels has focused on preserving the historical identity of the structure while creating a refined boutique hospitality experience that reflects the brand’s minimalist and design-led philosophy.

The intimate property will feature 18 rooms across multiple categories, including the Maharaja Suite, Maharani Suite, Superior Twin Rooms, and Superior King Rooms. Each room has been designed to combine understated luxury with cultural authenticity, offering guests a stay experience that balances heritage charm with contemporary comfort.

Adding to the property’s appeal is Cabami, a rooftop restaurant and bar that will offer panoramic views of Lake Pichola and the surrounding Udaipur skyline. The venue is expected to become a key attraction for both hotel guests and visitors looking for elevated dining experiences within a heritage setting.

Speaking about the project, Gautam Munjal, Founder of Minimalist Hotels, shared that the property has been conceptualised to capture the cultural essence of Udaipur while staying true to the brand’s modern hospitality approach. The expansion aligns with the rising popularity of immersive travel experiences, where guests increasingly seek culturally rooted stays that go beyond conventional luxury.

The launch also reflects a broader trend within India’s hospitality industry, where restored heritage properties and boutique hotels are gaining strong traction among domestic and international travellers. Rajasthan, in particular, has emerged as a preferred destination for experiential tourism, with heritage havelis and palaces being reimagined as premium lifestyle stays.

With the introduction of Minimalist  Lake Pichola Edit, the brand is further strengthening its footprint in India’s boutique hospitality segment while tapping into Udaipur’s growing appeal as a luxury and heritage travel destination.

InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort has completed the final phase of its large-scale transformation project, unveiling a significantly upgraded luxury beachfront destination on the Coromandel Coast. Part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio, the redevelopment reflects the growing demand for integrated hospitality destinations that combine leisure, wellness, dining, events, and experiential travel within a single property.

Spread across 15 acres along the East Coast Road, the reimagined resort now features upgraded guestrooms and suites, expanded wellness and recreation facilities, new dining venues, and large-format event infrastructure designed to cater to leisure travellers, destination weddings, business events, and premium celebrations.

The property now offers 110 guestrooms and suites overlooking landscaped gardens, swimming pools, and the Bay of Bengal. The premium accommodation portfolio includes the Grand Presidential Suite with a jacuzzi and steam room, the Presidential Suite with a private pool and spa room, and the Rathi Suite featuring a plunge pool and steam room. Hospitality experts note that luxury resorts are increasingly focusing on personalised and high-end accommodation experiences to attract affluent travellers looking for exclusivity, privacy, and comfort.

The transformation comes at a time when India’s luxury hospitality sector is witnessing strong growth driven by rising domestic tourism, destination weddings, wellness travel, and premium leisure experiences. Industry analysts believe travellers are increasingly seeking resorts that provide immersive experiences, combining relaxation, wellness, entertainment, and cultural elements within one destination.

Speaking on the reopening, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “The reopening of InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort marks an important milestone for our luxury portfolio in India. This multi-million-dollar transformation reflects our commitment to delivering destination-led, experience-rich stays that combine world-class hospitality with a strong sense of place. We are excited to welcome guests back to a reimagined resort that sets a new benchmark for mindful luxury on the Coromandel Coast.”

One of the major highlights of the redevelopment is the expansion of the resort’s event and celebration infrastructure. The property now offers more than one lakh square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including the 12,000 sq. ft. sea-facing Vaibhava Ballroom and the 70,000 sq. ft. Vaibhava & Beach Lawns. Together, these venues can host more than 5,000 guests, strengthening the resort’s position in India’s rapidly growing destination wedding and MICE tourism markets.

Hospitality industry observers note that luxury hotel operators are increasingly investing in event-driven infrastructure to capture growing demand for weddings, conferences, corporate offsites, and social celebrations. Scenic coastal locations such as Mahabalipuram are becoming highly preferred destinations for premium events due to their accessibility, natural surroundings, and upscale hospitality offerings.

The dining portfolio at the resort has also been expanded with multiple restaurant and lounge concepts, including Melting Pot, KoKoMMo Tiki Shack, Tao of Peng, Viora Sky Lounge, and The Gatsby Lounge. Industry experts believe diversified food and beverage experiences are playing an increasingly important role in driving non-room revenue and enhancing guest engagement in luxury hospitality destinations.

Alongside dining and events, the property has strengthened its wellness and recreational offerings. New additions include the Amrtam Spa, meditation gardens, yoga spaces, walking trails, sports facilities, pickleball courts, ATV trails, and dedicated family recreation zones. These developments reflect rising consumer interest in wellness-focused and activity-driven travel experiences.

Reflecting on the transformation, Anand Nair, General Manager, InterContinental Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort, said, “This relaunch marks a proud milestone for us, unveiling a truly transformed resort. Envisioned as a coastal icon reimagined, it brings together the richness of South Indian culture with modern luxury. Hospitality analysts believe the increasing popularity of destination weddings, wellness tourism, and experiential stays is encouraging hotel operators to invest heavily in scenic hill stations and nature-driven hospitality projects.

The resort has been designed to combine luxury hospitality with natural surroundings while offering curated guest experiences focused on relaxation, wellness, and recreation. The development also reflects a broader industry trend where hospitality brands are increasingly focusing on integrated resort formats that combine accommodation, dining, wellness, and event infrastructure within a single destination property.

Speaking about the new project, Rakshit Sharma, COO, Machan Resorts, said: “Panchgani continues to emerge as one of Maharashtra’s most preferred leisure and weekend getaways, known for its breathtaking valley views, lush greenery, and pleasant weather throughout the year. We are delighted to bring the ‘Myst by The Machan’ experience to this beautiful location. Nestled amidst serene landscapes with breathtaking views of the valley, the property has been thoughtfully designed to offer guests a seamless blend of nature, comfort, and unforgettable experiences.”

He further added while discussing the company’s expansion plans, “Our expansion pipeline includes upcoming hotels and resorts across key destinations such as Mulshi, Karjat, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Khandala, The Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and several more locations currently under development.”

The announcement comes at a time when India’s luxury resort and experiential travel sector is witnessing rapid growth driven by rising domestic tourism, changing traveller preferences, and increased spending on premium leisure experiences. Hospitality companies are increasingly expanding into high-potential leisure destinations to capture growing demand for personalised, nature-inspired, and wellness-focused travel experiences across the country.

Eco Hotels Debuts New Premium Stay Experience in Ayodhya

Eco Hotels And Resorts has announced the launch of its newly completed hotel property in Ayodhya, strengthening its presence in India’s rapidly growing spiritual tourism market. The expansion comes at a time when Ayodhya is witnessing a significant rise in tourist arrivals and hospitality investments, driven by increasing pilgrimage and cultural travel to the city.

The newly launched property features 33 rooms along with a top-floor restaurant, landscaped lawn, and swimming pool. Located around 5 kilometers from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple with direct highway connectivity, the hotel is positioned to cater to pilgrims, leisure travellers, and cultural tourists visiting the destination.

One of the key highlights of the property is its focus on satvik dining experiences. The in-house restaurant, “Sahar-Back to the Roots,” offers food prepared without onion and garlic, along with gluten-free breakfast options. Hospitality experts note that hotels in religious tourism destinations are increasingly focusing on customised food offerings that align with the preferences of spiritual travellers and family visitors.

The hotel also incorporates sustainable hospitality practices through efficient resource management and responsible energy use. As sustainability becomes a growing priority in the hospitality sector, many hotel brands are integrating eco-friendly operations into their long-term business strategies while maintaining guest comfort and service standards.

The launch reflects the increasing demand for organised hospitality infrastructure in emerging pilgrimage destinations across India. Ayodhya has rapidly evolved into one of the country’s key spiritual tourism hubs, leading to higher demand for professionally managed hotels that offer accessibility, comfort, and quality services. Industry observers believe that rising tourist inflow is encouraging hospitality operators to expand their presence in the city through new hotel developments and upgraded accommodation facilities.

Speaking on the launch, Vinod Kumar Tripathi, Chairman of Eco Hotels And Resorts Limited, said: “Ayodhya represents one of India’s most dynamic tourism markets. Launching our hotel here is a strategic step in expanding our footprint in spiritual and cultural destinations. We aim to deliver a premium hospitality experience while implementing eco-conscious practices that respect both the environment and the city’s cultural heritage.”
