How Ramagya Mart is Bolstering the Growth of Indian Home Appliance Manufacturers via Its E-commerce Platform

The Indian household appliances segment is burgeoning. According to a report by Statista, revenue in the household appliances segment is projected to reach $1,675 million in 2021. Despite the rising revenue in this niche, the number of domestic players that are participating in the sector are less. At present, most of the dominant players are global competitors that forayed into the country a long time back. To elevate domestic players, Ramagya Mart, a division of Ramagya Group, is promoting the Indian home appliance manufacturers’ business with wholesale or volume-buying customers.

“We first serve by enabling listed manufacturers to transition digitally by assisting in the development and building of their e-marts on the platform with zero cost or riders,” Utkarsh Gupta, Managing Director at Ramagya Mart, said.

The e-commerce platform offers traditional Indian manufacturing businesses a digital edge to better their distribution reach using its service propellers.

Adhering to the Multi-Medium Approach

Talking about the brand’s marketing strategy, it follows a multi-medium approach to promote its B2B e-commerce platform. The approach enables the brand’s communication with retailers, resellers, wholesalers, and distributors at the PAN India level. With this method, the firm is aiming to stimulate its B2B audience to explore brands that are credible, in turn, transiting the platform into a catalyst to promote exemplary Indian manufacturers

“The thought behind this marketing strategy is to ensure that our Indian manufacturers have the potential to leverage themselves. The manufacturers should, thus, take advantage of the movement--vocal for local,” Gupta said while elaborating the marketing approach.

Coming to the retail part, the company is presently in the early stages of promoting its platform.

Technology: Core Investment Area

At the moment, technology is the core focus area of the brand. Every aspect of the e-commerce portal works on tech fundamentals to ensure that the buying decision is easy and propelled by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and aspects of business intelligence (BI). The product’s architecture has been developed keeping it aligned to the brand promise of trust ensuring transparency in trade.

“I assume like all e-commerce businesses, Ramagya Mart will always be a work in progress, with newer upgrades added regularly. Our teams have been creating massive improvization to provide value to both the Indian manufacturers and the buyers,” Gupta opined.

As an evolving brand and being nascent in terms of existence, the company is presently testing its technology.

The company has concentrated its focus on 23 categories of home appliances in the broad categorization of its offerings. This is further classified and segmented under small kitchen appliances and personal as well as homecare appliances.  In addition, it claims to have nearly 5,000 SKUs under various categories.

Future Growth Plan

The company asserts to have more than 1,000 manufacturers listed on its platform before its official launch. Its team assisted manufacturers to create their wholesale e-marts on its portal. Going by its official statement, the company has another 230 manufactures that are in the process of being listed.

“With a focus on the mission to leverage 100 manufacturers and catapult them into recognizable brands, which are purchased by our Indian households, the task ahead lies with how we can get more of these Indian brands distributed,” Gupta said while sharing the future plan.

The company plans to enter the large appliances space soon. It would encourage Indian manufacturers to start producing large home appliances that are dominated by international brands. It will be launching a tool to increase its offering that will add value to Indian manufacturers and enable better manufacturing output by capacity utilization.
