Packaging profits, Paperazzi's way

As the traditional Indian retail is making way for modern formats, innovative concepts are being floated in the retail sector to offer specialised products and services to a customer while making a huge difference in his expectations.

Gift packaging in new form

One such mind-boggling concept has been introduced by “Paperazzi”, an innovative gift packaging store promoted by Saeesha Global. The store, having started its operations on September 17, 2007, is establishing base by setting up eight outlets.

Paperazzi is a creative design and distribution company, specialising in providing businesses with decorative gift and gourmet packaging products.

Set in a 300 sq.ft of area, Paperazzi stores are stylishly set in a combination of pink and green décor with dazzling displays in white fluorescent lighting.

Paperazzi has filled up the unorganised space in the small and niche gift-wrapping market by introducing merchandise for the likings of all age groups. Paperazzi offers a complete line of quality boxes and bags, with colour-coordinated wrapping papers, ribbons and bows. The paper-made gift wrappers, accessories (i.e. stickers), ribbons, 3D greeting cards, envelopes, envelope bags, paper bags of different shapes, fibre bags, paper-made showpieces, etc. are the store's major collections.

The brand aims to make gifting a creative and exclusive experience. The store has shelved nearly 480 to 500 SKUs, which are being retailed in the price range of Rs 10 to Rs 400.

Unique market potential

The stores are located on high streets and malls and have an inherent quality of actuating impulse purchase. The stores are run by well-trained staff of two to three people, who are quick to customise the items to customer requirements.

Speaking about the initiative, Naresh Seth, the promoter of Paperazzi stores, tells that after observing the unique market potential behind bringing up a small section of packaging (wrapping) under the light of retail, similar to European countries, he opened Paperazzi stores in Delhi last year. As part of his expansion plan, Seth is looking forward to take up the franchise route in the coming years to achieve a greater spread. The typical investment in opening a Paperazzi store is in the range of Rs 6-7 lakh, including store set-up and merchandise. Paperazzi stores have an existence both as shop-in-shop and stand-alone stores. Its shop-in-shop models are available at Vikashpuriya Shopping Mall (Rohini), Pacific Mall (Sahibabad) and Lakshmi Book Store (Janpath), whereas the exclusive stores are set up at Ansal Plaza, Greater Kailash (Part I), Khan Market, TDI Mall (Rajouri Garden) and Mega Mall (Gurgaon).
